ABOUT ME

ORIOL ANGRILL JORDÀ (Barcelona, 1986) is a visual artist based in Mallorca, known for his figurative work in watercolor and printmaking, where traditional craftsmanship meets a contemporary vision and digital experimentation. He studied Illustration at the Escola Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears and continued his training in London at The Art Academy (Life Drawing) and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (Etching).
Portraiture is the spark that ignites his creative process. Through the human figure, Angrill explores identity, fragility, the need to feel understood, and the relationship between the inner and visible worlds. His work seeks a balance between detail and emptiness, between control and chance. Each piece is a pause, a space to recognize what often remains unspoken.
His visual language combines academic precision with the fluidity of watercolor and the openness of new technologies, uniting craftsmanship and contemporary sensitivity. Angrill uses art as a language of introspection and empathy, a place for silent contemplation and inner connection. In a world that tends toward superficiality, his painting offers a return to stillness, to the sincerity of a gaze that requires no words.
His work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions across Europe and the Americas, including Spoke Art Gallery (New York), Islington Arts Factory (London), ABA Art Lab (Palma), Museu de Sóller (Mallorca), Galería Gaudí (Madrid and Brussels), Galeria 6A (Palma), Robert Lange Studios (South Carolina, USA), and La Intrusa Showroom (Madrid). He has been selected for events such as the XVII International Printmaking Biennial “Josep de Ribera”, the Artist of Mallorca Prize, and the ST-Art International Art Fair (Strasbourg), and has participated in mural art festivals including the Mural Art Festival Porto Pi and Aftersun Festival Calvià.
His career reflects a clear intention to unite craft and contemporaneity. From his residencies at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró (2020 and 2023) where he developed experimental printmaking series, to his collaborations with international brands and magazines such as Bloomberg Markets, GQ Italia, Saatchi Art, American Art Collector, Juxtapoz, TUI Cruises, and Hoff Shoes, Angrill’s work maintains a balance between traditional technique and modern sensitivity.
Today, he combines the perseverance of a craftsman with the curiosity of one who observes the world from within. In his practice, technique is not merely execution but a way of thinking, a dialogue between the tangible and the intangible, between material and intuition. His work advocates for slowness, contemplation, and beauty as forms of resistance against contemporary superficiality.
For Angrill, art is a language for understanding what cannot be said, an invitation to rediscover humanity through image.
